Hasan Siddiqui received his PhD in History from the University of Chicago, specializing in the cultural and intellectual history of early modern South Asia. His current research analyzes the works of encyclopedists, polymaths, and universal historians of the Mughal empire, the dominant state in South Asia for much of the early modern period. He also conducts research in the history of political thought.
