We are sad to announce the passing of Ian Ross, who began his teaching at the University of British Columbia in 1960. Head of the English Department (1982-87), professor Ross was a member of the UBC Senate (1969-75), President of the Faculty Association (1974-5), and in 1988 was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Professor Ross was instrumental in the creation of the of the Arts One Program, and its continued vitality is a testament to his vision.
